چکیده
In the current research project, two-dimensional numerical simulations are conducted to analyze effects of geometrical configuration on flow structures and thermal performances subcooled boiling. The CFD carried out in two different configurations (straight periodic constriction expansion) a minichannel mounted vertically at four mass fluxes (500 kg/m2s; 836.64 1170 2535 kg/m2s). present predicted results exhibit excellent accordance with previous experiments, mean errors 6.39% 9.78%, demonstrating efficiency study. simulation show that expansion design provides good mixing between layers, leading 43.11% enhancement transfer, which is more important than slight pressure drop penalty 4.32 for flux 500 kg/m2s due combined along resulted from regions. Furthermore, visualization patterns shows bubbly dominant regime constriction-expansion configuration.

Modeling of Upward Subcooled Flow Boiling of Refrigerant-113 in a Vertical Annulus
In this paper, a modified two-fluid model has been adopted to simulate the process of upward vertical subcooled flow boiling of refrigerant R-113 in a vertical annular channel at low pressure. The modified model considers temperature dependent properties and saturation temperature variation and was validated against a number of published low-pressure subcooled boiling experiments. The results s...
متن کاملSubcooled two-phase flow boiling in a microchannel heat sink: comparison of conventional numerical models
Subcooled flow boiling in multi-microchannels can be used as an efficient thermal management approach in compact electrical devices. Highly subcooled flow boiling of HFE 7100 is studied in two microchannel heat sinks to choose a proper numerical model for simulating boiling flows in microchannels. Results of five different numerical models, including Volume of Fluid (VOF), Eulerian boiling, Eul...

Fouling is a common, fundamental and costly problem in heat transfer systems, which reduces thermal efficiency of equipment, increases the energy loss and causes strong damage to the heat transfer equipment in various industries. The main causes of fouling on the heat transfer surfaces are salts with inverse temperature-solubility in the fluid which calcium sulfate is one of the most important ...
متن کاملInstability of subcooled boiling film on a vertical wall
Consider a vertical plate with a leading edge. The temperature of the plate is above the spontaneous nucleation temperature, so that vapor completely covers the plate. Two-dimensional quasi-parallel theory is used to examine the stability of the two-phase system. Numerical calculations show that the main parameter determining the thickness of the vapor film and its stability is the difference b...
متن کاملDetection of Two-phase Flow Patterns in a Vertical Minichannel Using the Recurrence Quantification Analysis
The two-phase flow (water-air) occurring in square minichannel (3x3 mm) has been analysed. In the minichannel it has been observed: bubbly flow, flow of confined bubbles, flow of elongated bubbles, slug flow and semi-annular flow. The time series recorded by laser-phototransistor sensor was analysed using the recurrence quantification analysis. The two coefficients:Recurrence rate (RR) and Dete...
